Thomians’ Nite 2025: A Memorable Evening of Music, Fellowship and Celebration

The Colombo Branch of the St. Thomas’ College, Matale Old Thomians’ Association successfully hosted Thomians’ Nite 2025 on Saturday, 8 November 2025, at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, Colombo. The event brought together Old Thomians, their families, and alumni from schools across Matale and other parts of the island for an evening of entertainment, friendship, and celebration.

Organised under the leadership of Association President Mr. Sumith Halvitige, the event served as another successful gathering that strengthened the bonds among alumni while supporting the ongoing activities of the Association.

Celebrating a Proud Legacy

St. Thomas’ College, Matale, with a proud history spanning 152 years, continues to be one of Sri Lanka’s respected educational institutions. For 38 years, the Old Thomians’ Association has remained actively engaged in supporting the College through a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing academic and sporting activities, providing scholarships to deserving students, and contributing to various school development programmes.

Thomians’ Nite 2025 reflected the Association’s continued commitment to fostering fellowship among alumni while supporting the advancement of their beloved Alma Mater.

An Evening of Outstanding Entertainment

Guests were treated to an exciting musical experience with performances by The Point Five, the popular youth band led by Nadimal Perera. Their energetic performance created a vibrant atmosphere and kept the audience entertained throughout the evening.

Adding further excitement to the programme, the Sri Lanka Army Western Dance Troupe delivered captivating performances that enhanced the entertainment experience and added colour to the event.

Strengthening Alumni Connections

Thomians’ Nite 2025 provided an excellent opportunity for Old Thomians and their families to reconnect, renew friendships, and celebrate their shared heritage. The event also welcomed alumni from other schools in Matale and across Sri Lanka, creating an atmosphere of unity, fellowship, and goodwill.

The successful conclusion of Thomians’ Nite 2025 once again demonstrated the strength of the Thomian spirit and the enduring commitment of the Old Thomians’ Association towards supporting St. Thomas’ College, Matale, and its future generations.
