34th Annual General Meeting of Matale Old Thomians' Association - Colombo Branch (MOTA Colombo) and Press Conference Unveils Exciting Plans for 150th Anniversary Celebrations
Colombo, June 24th, 2023 – The Grand Oriental Hotel in Colombo set the stage for the 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Matale Old Thomians’ Association – Colombo Branch (MOTA Colombo) on June 24th, 2023. The event saw the re-election of the incumbent President, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, and the appointment of Mr. Ranjith Anthik as the honorary Secretary. Mr. Nalin Wijerathne took on the role of Treasurer. Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including General Shevendra Silva, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake, President of the Bar Association Kaushlya Nawarathne, Sujeewa Godaliyadda (Treasurer of Sri Lanka Cricket), and other notable figures. Anniversary Song by Keenth de Silva: The collaboration between the renowned musician and Old Boy, Keenth de Silva, in composing a special song that will capture the essence and spirit of the school’s 150-year journey.
History Book Compilation by Mr. Lalith Karunadasa: A meticulously researched and comprehensive book chronicling the history and heritage of the school, preserving the remarkable stories and achievements of generations of Thomians.
School Masterplan Development with Architects Anil Kumarage and Lakshman Senevirratne: A strategic masterplan for the future development and expansion of the school’s infrastructure, ensuring a conducive environment for quality education and holistic growth.
